Marek Brejl

Founder
Marek has spent over 15 years in the software industry - from pioneering automated 3D disease detections algorithms for radiology, to leading large multi-national software development teams at Microsoft. Marek has founded Coding with Kids in 2013 and pursues his dedication to leading the best coding education program for children in the world. Marek has two children who are becoming coders of their own. Marek is a climber and a hiker, and has travelled around the globe.

Jitka Brejlova

Co-founder
Jitka has earned an MBA degree and has 10+ years of experience in Education Services, primarily as a Program Manager. She has rolled out and managed a network of 200 academic and licensure Test Centers for one of the largest educational companies, Pearson. In her spare time, Jitka enjoys the outdoors, travel and learning about different cultures of the world. Locally, she has helped start the Czech School of Seattle and has been volunteering to organize international events.

Jane Kopf Stover

Director of Operations & Partnerships
Jane worked in public education for 18 years as a principal, assistant principal, curriculum developer, and teacher before joining Coding with Kids. She has her Bachelor's Degree in Biology from Kalamazoo College, her Master's Degree in Education from the University of Michigan, and an Educational Leadership certificate from the University of Washington. Jane is passionate about finding ways for all kids, regardless of background, to have access and opportunity to engage in computer science education. She, along with her husband and two children enjoy hiking, skiing, and traveling in their free time.

Radka Dostal

Finance and HR Manager
Radka has her Master's degree from University of Economics in Prague and worked over 6 years in financial advisory and was specialized mainly for business and property valuation, financial analysis and planning at that time. After relocating to the Seattle area in 2009 Radka made her move to accounting, taxation, payroll and HR. In her free time, Radka enjoys hiking, skiing, swimmimg, playing tennis, camping and traveling with her two children.

JP Tugirimana

Curriculum Manager
JP is a computer engineer and a full-stack software developer with experience in both mobile and web applications. He also has 7 years of experience in the STEM and coding education industry. He started as a coach and a volunteer for STEM programs, and he went on to become a seasoned consultant in designing and creating curriculum for STEM and coding programs for Edtech companies around the world, from Silicon Valley startups to learning labs in Hong Kong. JP’s hobbies include playing soccer, running, and reading.

Jen Karr-Lee

Manager of Operations
Jen has over 20 years of experience in frontline and corporate leadership and program strategy, leading diverse teams focused on employee and customer experience and engagement. Originally from the East Coast, Jen relocated to the Seattle area in 2003 after completing her MA in Counseling Psychology from Northwestern University and joined REI as a seasonal stocker in the Seattle Flagship store. Over the following 15 years, she grew her career at REI through all levels of retail management and spent six years on REI’s corporate team leading company-wide employee engagement programs. Jen is passionate about strengthening and innovating the employee experience wherever she works, believing deeply that engaged employees are the best asset a company can have. Outside of work, Jen is a mom to an 11-year-old, a board member for Lighthouse Foundation for the Blind, a volunteer with Seattle Public Schools, and an avid outdoors-woman who enjoys hiking, biking, skiing, trapezing, reading, and spending time with friends

Rebecca Battat

Instructor Care Manager
Rebecca, a passionate advocate for accessible computer science education, has inspired CS learners of all ages for over a decade. Rebecca holds a BA in Math and Education from Barnard College and a Masters in Computer Science from City College of New York. She started at Girls Who Code designing club curriculums. Then she taught at a NYC public high school teaching math and computer science, establishing the school's first Computer Science program. Rebecca's dedication continued at Edlyft, where she developed and managed programs for CS college students. Now, she brings her expertise to Coding with Kids, determined to continue to expand CS education. Beyond her career, Rebecca enjoys family time, dance, books, travel, and theater.
